Medical Debt

It’s no secret that our healthcare system is a disaster. Corporate health executives are raking in record profits while the rest of us have to pinch pennies just to see a doctor when we’re sick. More than 100 million of us — over 40% of adults in the U.S. — are struggling to pay our medical bills, and countless others are forced to postpone critical care for fear of the cost.

Medical debt doesn’t exist in a vacuum — it’s a symptom of a healthcare system that incentivizes the pursuit of profit at the expense of patients, workers, and communities.

Healthcare should be a public good, not a commodity. We’re fighting to get debtors the immediate relief we need and building campaigns to demand systemic change and win universal healthcare for all. But to win, we’re going to need an even bigger movement. Are you in?
