The federal student loan system is in shambles: as debtors are being told they must leave SAVE, they are being offered confusing and contradictory information about what plan they should transfer to and how much it will cost them. Loan payments toward PSLF have been lost, and the Department of Education is understaffed. People are suffering.

It’s clear that we need a pause on payments NOW– to address the ongoing harm and to open up possibilities for debt cancellation going forward.

How can we share and then utilize our individual debt experiences to demand that this issue rises above the noise? How do we make our demands newsworthy and exciting to reporters and on social media?
