Debt – Free Your Mind

In this creative expression session, we will begin with a somatic release to let go of guilt and shame around debt, sharing our debtors’ stories, and freedom dreaming. Through asserting a Payment Pause NOW, Cancel It ALL, and College for ALL, we will imagine what becomes possible when we pause payments, cancel student debt, and make higher education accessible to everyone. Download and print our Coloring Page packet because while we share our stories, we will color inside the lines, but dreaming outside the lines. 

Bring your own colored pencils and art supplies and join us as we invite debtors to imagine and illustrate what life could look like without a monthly student loan payment, contrasted with the material realities of having to make those payments. Participants can color and personalize the pages, adding what they would use that money for instead: rent, groceries, childcare, healthcare, savings, hobbies, education, joy, rest, art, or community care. 

Our freedom dreaming will connect immediate relief through the Payment Pause to the broader demands to Cancel It All and realize College for All inviting us to envision both a life without student debt and a future where no one has to take on debt to learn.

Completed pages can be shared on social media as part of the Payment Pause Campaign and collected for physical installations at actions, Debtor Assemblies, partner events, or other Payment Pause Campaign activations.
