Join guest speaker Doha Mekki, formerly the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the DOJ’s antitrust division, to learn how corporate consolidation in education drives up tuition and how antitrust enforcement can help protect affordability.

  • Doha Mekki is a Senior Fellow at the University of California Berkeley Law School’s Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice. Ms. Mekki served as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division from 2021 until 2024, and as the Acting Assistant Attorney General until January 2025.In these roles, she supervised civil and criminal enforcement, litigation, trials, appeals, domestic and international policy, competition advocacy, and the expert analysis program. She oversaw investigations and litigation against anticompetitive corporate practices in major markets including higher education, digital markets, housing, agriculture, and financial services, among others.
