Immigrants have long worked in the US military. In this talk, Sofya Aptekar (sociologist and author of Green Card Soldier) shares her research on the immigrant experience of military labor, situating it within a global system of wealth extraction and imperialism, and highlighting the role of different types of debt in channeling immigrants into the US military.
